The European Commission has launched a new Women TechEU project aimed at high-tech startups led by women in senior management positions. The pilot program will support up to 50 start-ups.

Despite the challenging period for the world economy, Sofia climbed in the rankings of “Technology Cities of the Future 2021” compared to last year, in several categories.

Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 has launched a program in support of start-ups in Bulgaria. The priority areas of the program are “Innovation for Green Industry” and “Welfare Technologies”.

The cluster “Sofia – City of Knowledge” is one of the 25 winners in the initiative of the European Cluster Cooperation Platform which touches the topic of “green transformation”.

The Sofia Municipality implements a system for production of “green” energy and “smart” communal services in 76. KG “Sarnichka”. The projects are part of the “Sandbox for Innovations” Initiative and are implemented in the largest kindergarten in Bulgaria – № 76. “Sarnichka”, in zh.k. Mladost IV.

Experts of the European Commission ranked Sofia among the finalists of the “European Green Capital 2023” competition. The final will take place on September 9, 2021 in the city of Lahti, Finland.

The Bulgarian Industry Association has launched the first study of its kind in Bulgaria in order to analyse the readiness of the Bulgarian business to meet the challenges of a changing world. The questionnaire is open to companies from all sectors until September 30, 2021.

The event “Young Developers” was held on June 24 at the 51st Highschool “Elisaveta Bagryana”, where 8th grade students presented their projects in the world of Virtual Reality.
