FDI Intelligence magazine in partnership with TNW (The Next Web) prepared this year’s edition of “Technology Cities of the Future 2021” to celebrate the development of European cities with the most promising prospects for startups and investment in technology and innovation.

The survey reviewed data from 76 European cities and assessed it in terms of investment opportunities, the availability of skilled labor and infrastructure development. The five leading cities in the general ranking are London, Paris, Dublin, Berlin and Amsterdam.

For the classification, fDI rated cities according to five criteria:

  • Economic potential;
  • Innovation and attractiveness;
  • Attracting foreign direct investment;
  • Cost efficiency;
  • Startup environment.

In addition, a sixth separate category “Strategy for attracting foreign investors” has been created and falling into the top 20 on this criterion brings additional points to the overall result for the final ranking.

The team of Innovative Sofia successfully managed to prepare the application for participation both for this year’s participation in the survey and for last year’s.
