Iskra Yovkova from Innovative Sofia presented Policy Cloud in the Parallel Session on Smart Government: Co-Creating Services with the use of AI and Data at the EBDVF2020 on Thursday, 5 November. By the invitation from the organizers, she took part in the forum as the R&D Coordinator of the project on behalf of Sofia Municipality. She presented Policy Cloud’s use case of urban policymaking through analysis of crowdsourced data:

The session showcased examples of Smart Government initiatives across Europe that integrate AI, Digital Twins and Big Data solutions. Among the objectives of the discussion was to identify a possible input for a shared policy brief with recommendations on the gaps discovered in the session.

‘We want to improve the urban environment: transport, waste collection, air quality, parking, and public order, using Policy Cloud’s tools with different sources of data. By using PolicyCloud’s tools, cities will be able to adopt, assess, and make adequate decisions about their policies. Public administrations will be able to better spend and distribute resources’, Iskra Yovkova said during the panel. 

 

About the Forum

EBDVF2020 took place between November 3-5, in the conference center KOSMOS in Berlin Karl-Marx-Allee and online. EBDVF is the flagship event of the European Big Data and Data-Driven AI Research and Innovation community organized by the Big Data Value Association (BDVA) and the European Commission (DG CNECT). The 2020 edition of the forum in Berlin aimed to continue the success of previous editions and bring together more that 1200 industry professionals, business developers, researchers, and policymakers coming from over 40 countries.
