Deputy Mayor Gencho Kerezov will Speak at the Conference “Smart Cities and Municipalities”

The Board of Directors of the Association of Bulgarian Cities and Regions and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in partnership with UNWE organize a conference on “Smart Cities and Municipalities – Vision for the Future” – Part 2. The sub-theme of the second edition of the event is: “Modern Information Technology – trends in the development and application of them for the formation of smart cities with regional divisions.

The conference will be held on December 3 and 4 at Landmark Creek Hotel & Wellness, Plovdiv. Participants will be the regional mayors of the cities with regional division and the chairmen of municipal councils, respectively of Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna.

The topic of “Digitalization, Innovation and Investment” will be discussed between representatives of the municipalities of Sofia, Varna and Plovdiv during the second day of the conference. The Deputy Mayor for Digitalization of Sofia Gencho Kerezov will take an active part – as part of the discussion he will have the opportunity to present a report on current issues of e-government in Bulgaria.

As part of the conference, the focus will be on the topics: “E-Government in Smart Cities”, “Processing of personal data by municipalities”, “The new normal – cyber risk management in the insurance process” and others.

The welcoming speech at the opening of the conference will be delivered by the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov. Reports will also be presented by Dr. Georgi Tsolov from the Department of Regional Development and Dr. Petkan Iliev from the Department of Economics.
