BASF Innovation Hub 2021: competition in the field of CleanTech

Young innovators and start-ups from Central and Southeast Europe can apply for participation in the BASF Innovation Hub 2021 competition. The competition is organized by the leading international chemical company BASF, which has been a partner of the Bulgarian industry for more than 50 years. It will enable innovators and startups to present their ideas in the fields of clean energy, sustainable agriculture, the circular economy and cleantech and receive additional funding.

The best innovation or start-up idea at the national level will receive an initial support of 2,500 euros, along with the possibility of an additional investment of 5,000 euros – whether the idea will be supported in the future by BASF, as a winner in the Grand Final.

The countries participating in the competition are Austria, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Greece, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania.

To qualify, your idea must cover one of the following topics:

Clean energy – Digital solutions with a focus on improving the process and energy efficiency, solutions to increase the share of renewable energy in the power supply (heat, solar, wind), solutions for heat and insulation, optimization of heating, cooling, ventilation, decarbonization of energy systems and promotion of zero-emission technologies);

Sustainable agriculture – Technologies for precision import of substances, consulting services for digital agriculture, solutions for digital agriculture, solutions that contribute to more sustainable food systems, products for selective crop protection, biological crop protection;

Circular economy – Solutions that contribute to more sustainable, greener production cycles, digital closed-cycle recycling base, biodegradable and biodegradable plastics solutions, (bio) chemical recycling solutions, recycling catalysts, material recycling batteries, resource efficient products and services).
