Policy Makers on Every Level Need Data to Back-up Decisions (video)

4 June, 2020

European Commission’s PolicyCLOUD programme runs four pilot cases and Sofia Municipality’s pilot on policy design based on analysis of big data is one of them.

In January 2020, Innovative Sofia, on behalf of Sofia Municipality, won a place in the PolicyCloud Project. Through our involvement in the programme, the Sofia Municipality will address urban policy as a critical success factor in improving the overall urban environment of the city. Policy design will be adapted based on the analysis of big data sourced from the following sectors:

  • Transport, parking and road infrastructure
  • Waste collection and waste disposal
  • Cleanliness of public spaces
  • Ecology, green systems
  • Violation of public order

We will be using different categories of data – from existing sources (the Call Sofia call centre for citizens’ signals) and from new open data sets of the EU, which will be accessible to Sofia and the other 15 European cities in PolicyCLOUD.

You can watch the interview with Nadia Soultanova (Sofia Municipality) and Petya Nikolova (OKYS).
